Wolfskill 96 is the newest release from Turkovich Family Wines, an award winning winery in Yolo County. The name comes from John Wolfskill, an early explorer and settler to Northern California left a lasting legacy on American viticulture. We created the wine bottle design, featuring the 96—cattle brand inspired—logo, and supporting collateral materials. The label has a subtle 1850s vintage map screen printed around the entire bottle, and has the story of John Wolfskill on the back. Over the years we have also taken Turkovich culture based images for the brand as well, including images from the winery and their vineyards.
Part of the release included creating t-shirts for tasting room employees, posters to supplement the featured wine display, tech sheets, and print advertising.
The photography style is subdued, rustic, desaturated, and showcases the ties that Turkovich has to Yolo County. Overall Turkovich as a brand is bold but understated, clean but nature inspired, and really, really tasty.
