YoloArts is the central nonprofit arts organization serving Yolo County (Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento and beyond) and provides the diverse community with ‘resources and access to the creation, exhibition, and preservation of the region’. We completely redesigned their website, vastly increasing their online capabilities and web presence. Part of the process included fleshing out their existing brand which at the time consisted of a logo and single color, for an arts organization we knew we had to up the palette!
After strategizing the content with our clients, we always create a wireframe of the site (seen below) which allows both us and our clients to visualize how the site is coming together and see how content connects. Responsive design and a ‘Mobile-First’ approach is key for websites that now have over 50% of traffic are from mobile devices. The YoloArts site accomplishes that with a design that is easily transcribed and optimized for a wide range of screen sizes.
